Most knee replacements should last around 15 years. Towards the end of their lifespan you may experience discomfort, the knee may feel a little unstable and may grate.
Mr Waters’s expertise lies in replacing worn-out artificial joints and contrary to popular belief, joints can be revised many times. There are a variety of prostheses that can be used depending on the degree of wear the knee has experienced. Mr Waters will discuss these with you.
The recovery from revision surgery is very similar to the first operation. In most cases you should be able to walk fully weight-bearing straight away.
